Discovery Day is a brand new way for you to be creative at MADE in East Lothian.

Using our materials and kits, this is a time for you to get messy in our studio, making, creating and having fun.

Discovery Day is mindful time and space for you to experiment and play.

You are invited to join Nicky, MADE’s workshop coordinator and happy gel-plate fan, in the studio to explore and get splodgy with gelli plates. Gel plate printing is AWESOME. You must try it.

Whether you came along to one of Kate’s fabulous workshops last year or just always wanted to try it, Discovery Day was created with you in mind. Be reinspired. Share your learning with others. Beginners welcome too!

Nicky will demonstrate the basics, the rest of the session is untutored … it’s over to you to create your own unique textures, patterns and colour combinations. Find your own passion. For instance, Nicky’s currently working on abstract backgrounds for collage and is loving process of discovery. You might want to use flowers or leaves or shells … there are endless possibilities.

Suitable for age 16+. Beginners welcome. Materials and printing inspirations will be available but you’re welcome to bring your own.
