We Are MADE in East Lothian CIC
Fiona Lambert
Creative Director
The MADE Arts Hub was founded in 2016 by four creative women, including myself. We initially came together to share workspace and ideas.
Creativity lies at the heart of my personal journey to MADE. I graduated in interior design, then worked for design studios in Glasgow and London before moving back to Edinburgh to set up my own design business. I combined this with teaching in further education. I also founded a collective of independent designers, taking part in several group exhibitions.
Inspired by the local social enterprise network, I was awarded a place on the Social Innovation Programme run by The Melting Pot in Edinburgh. This gave me the skills to set up REdesign the following year. My natural instinct to collaborate with other creative people led to the formation of MADE in East Lothian.
Isabella Hodge
Administrator / Lead Tutor
I joined the MADE team almost at the beginning and completely by accident. I came in to help set up a window display and stayed.
My main creative love is for all things textile, sewing first but also knitting, weaving and hand spinning. I made all my own clothes and home furnishings and ran a fabric shop for home dressmakers in Edinburgh.
I also love vintage sewing machines, the iconic old black ones that granny once owned. I have my own collection of these and have refurbished and restored many more.
Through my business, Sew Vintage, I make and sell upcycled cashmere accessories and other household items such as cushions, aprons and tote bags, all from upcycled and vintage textiles and sold exclusively at MADE.
