SEWING MACHINE BASICS 2 : ZIPS AND BUTTONHOLES
Join Isabella to learn more basics of how to use your sewing machine confidently.
When you’re confident using your sewing machine for basic stitching, it’s time to learn more about the different features and techniques you can use your machine for, allowing you to make many more things! Two of the most useful machine sewing techniques are sewing in a zip and how to make buttonholes.
- You’ll learn how to sew a standard zip into a seam using the zipper foot, useful for making clothes and cushions.
- You’ll be able to use the buttonhole function and buttonhole foot to make different sized buttonholes.
- To finish, we will make a small project to practise your new skills.
All materials will be provided.
You can use one of our beginner friendly sewing machines. You can also bring your own machine in to use, but it must be in good working condition. It would also be helpful to let Isabella know what machine you’ll bringing. Your own machine MUST have a buttonhole function (or at least zig zag stitch), a zipper foot and buttonhole foot that fits your machine.
Refreshments are included, for when you need a little break. The workshop will be delivered following any current COVID guidelines. Spaces are limited so early booking is advised. Suitable for adults. All abilities are welcome.
