INTRODUCTION TO LINO PRINTING
In this introductory workshop, MADE’s Emily Tough will guide you through the basics of lino printing, a simple creative hand printmaking technique. You will draw and cut your own design in lino, before building up your image in layers and producing prints to frame or make into cards.
Linocut prints make wonderful gifts, as well as unique art for your home. This workshop will give you basic skills for you to develop and experiment with later.
During this workshop, you will,
- learn traditional lino printing techniques
- create your own design
- learn to carve your lino using linocut tools provided
- print your design by hand, using water-based inks and paints
- make your first linocut prints
All materials and tools are provided.
Refreshments are included, for when you need a little break. The workshop will be delivered following current COVID guidelines. Spaces are limited so early booking is advised.
Suitable for adults. All abilities are welcome. It can get messy so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Pinnies are provided.
