Haddington Art Weekend 2026: September 5 & 6, 10am-5pm

Discover over 30 artists in open studios, shared exhibitions and creative workshops across Haddington and further afield.

In the week leading up, a number of supportive shops on the high street will be exhibiting artists’ work in their windows – keep your eyes out! You can collect one of our handy maps from these shops, or from a host of local cafes and venues (scroll down to view the map online). On the weekend, you can also enter our raffle to win the artists’ work.

Workshops & demonstrations:

There will be a number of drop-in demonstrations, as well as a few hands-on workshops which need to be booked via TicketTailor.

Booked workshops:

Decoupage, Collage & Mixed Media | Bonnie sutherland: Sat 5th | 11am – 1pm

Explore collage, decoupage and mixed media. There will be an option to decoupage a ukelele, but pretty much any 3D object will do – vase, cup, coaster…. or you can opt for making a collage on a wooden board. Location: Mountain Coffee. Cost: £40. Booking

Watercolour Flowers workshop | Sheena Phillips: Sat 5th | 2-4pm

Enter the magical world of watercolour: experiment and create a beautiful flower painting. Expert tuition from acclaimed local artist Sheena Phillips. Suitable for all abilities, adults only, spaces limited.  Location: Mountain Coffee. Cost: £35. Booking

Plein Air Painting workshop | iona molleson: Sun 6th | 1-3.30pm

Iona will demonstrate how she works in oils ‘alla prima’, followed by a workshop to create your own garden painting in oils. Materials provided. Location: Amisfield cabin (indoors if bad weather). 6 spaces, min age 16, experienced artists & beginners welcome. Cost: £35. Booking

Drop-in demonstrations:

Painting a landscape in under an hour | Nicky Stannage: Sat 5th | 11am – 12noon

Watch a snowy landscape emerge from start to finish ‘Bob Ross Style’. Learn how to paint skies, mountains and trees. The painting can be won in the HAW raffle. Location: Studio 3, Poldrate.

Printmaking | Eve Sladdin: sat 5th / sun 6th | 10am – 4pm

See Eve’s printmaking process in action! Eve will demonstrate how she creates her linocut prints.
Location: Amisfield cabin.

Mixed Media | Fiona Lambert: sat 5th / sun 6th | 10am – 4pm

Fiona will use simple printmaking techniques to make collage material for mixed media artwork  throughout the weekend. Location: Made Arts Hub.

Printmaking | Lyndsay Fergus: sun 6th | 11am – 4pm

A chance to ink up a fern or leaf then run it through a mangle to create a one off botanical print under Lyndsay’s expert guidance. Location: Studio 3, Poldrate.
