MIXED MEDIA – COLLAGE
Collage is “both the technique and the resulting work of art in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera are arranged and stuck down onto a supporting surface.” (tate.org.uk)
Fiona Lambert will introduce you to the art of collage, showing you how to select and arrange photographs, coloured and textured paper and other types of mixed media. You’ll build up a background of different papers and cuttings from newspapers, magazines, old photos, envelopes. Also found objects and other types of mixed media such as threads and fabric. Just what inspires you.
Mixed media collage is an expressive and experimental creative activity and very quickly you’ll be hooked.
Please bring your own paper, photographs and cuttings to collage. All drawing and painting media plus a cutting board, ruler, craft knife, glue and scissors are provided.
Refreshments are included, for when you need a little break. Spaces are limited so early booking is advised. Suitable for adults. All abilities are welcome. It can get messy so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Pinnies are provided.
Fiona Lambert is the founding Director of MADE in East Lothian CIC. She is a qualified Interior Designer, working for design studios in Glasgow and London beore moving back Edinburgh to set up her own design business. She was awarded a place on the Social Innovation Programme, which led her to set up REdesign Network. She co-founded MADE in East Lothian in 2016.
