Egg Tempera and Pigment Painting with Fee Scroggie

Join Fee Scroggie to explore the ancient art of egg tempera painting. Using egg yolk as a binder we will be creating our own home made paint to make art with. Egg tempera’s unique quality is its luminous glow and clarity of colour, it is fast drying so you can build up many translucent layers layers giving it a richness not possible with other paints.
This is why it has been in use for thousands of years, first used by the Egyptians and has been in continual use ever since by artists as diverse as Botticelli, da Vinci, medieval icon painters to contemporary artists like Andrew Wyeth, Leonora Carrington and Julio Reyes.
