MADE in East Lothian received Adapt and Thrive government funding which has allowed us to run weekly workshops. It’s been inspiring seeing how much benefit our community members have got from this. In particular, New Beginnings Club East Lothian who attend our arts and crafts and upcycling sessions, are welcoming and imaginative. It’s been lovely getting to know everyone. With Burns Night coming up, this month we focused on creative writing as a means of expression.
Sometimes when in it is my parents anniversary
I can feel up and down
When they passed away
it took me many months
to go through grief.
But I know they are together in heaven
spending heavenly time together again.
The memories of them will always
be treasure in my heart.
I am not fortunate but proud
as well as having my parents
I make my own money.
Cheeko always gives me a cheeky awakening in the morning.
